Having completed the study unit the
student is able to · acquire information necessary for the research process critically from various
                                       sources
                                       · identify the differences between qualitative and quantitative approaches

Previous studies Introduction to Learning Strategies and Research 5 CR.
Learning objectives KEY QUESTIONS How do research methods support my professional growth? What
are the foundations of qualitative and quantitative research? How can these methods be
applied in practice? Part: Quantitative Research Methods and Statistics (2 cr):
During the study course students will become familiar with basics of quantitative
research and statistics and learn to apply quantitative data collection and analysing
                                       methods in research. Student
                                       ● comprehends the nature and possibilities of quantitative research
                                       ● will be capable to apply quantitative research methods and statistics in
                                               research
                                       ● will learn to plan questionary and basics of data analysing
Contents Research Methods examines the fundamental principles and applications of different
qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. It further develops a student’s
ability to use statistical methods in data analysis and allows him/her to plan and
implement their own small research project The students demonstrates competence by
comprehending and distinguishing different qualitative and quantitative research
methodologies. S/he further becomes capable in using statistical methods in analyzing
quantitative and qualitative data. Part: Quantitative Research Methods and Statistics:
