opiskelija osaa ● study the effects that factors such as ethnicity, mental challenge, and addiction
have on creating structural inequalities, as well as the manner in which these
effect individual clients and groups
● reflect on the role power imbalances and oppression play in the process of social
exclusion
● identify that different disempowered client groups have particular needs which
necessitate specific, culturally competent working methods
● recognize the political nature of reflective social work practice in its aim to
challenge social exclusion
● internalise the theoretical framework of anti-oppressive social work practice
including its key foundations of empowerment, client partnership, networking,
and social change
● develop professional skills and client-centred methods required for crisis &
mental health work, substance misuse work, and multicultural social work
