 student is able to                      learn the main principles of the Finnish language and some main things of Finnish
                                         culture,

                                         understand and use the most common expressions in Finnish in everyday situations

 Study material                          Teacher's own material available on lessons and in Optima (Finnish Language & Culture
                                         > Marja-Leenan ryhmät > BASIC FINNISH 1, 2011-2012). Extra material for
                                         independent studies available in the library.
 Evaluation criteria and methods         Grades 1-5 in use, depending on presence and activity at contact lessons, performance in
                                         making homework & remote tasks, know-how in the exam. Students are supposed to be
                                         present at the lessons at least 80% of the whole lesson time.
