 Keskeinen sisältö                 Syllabus OutlineThis course is designed to encompass many aspects related to social
                                   services and prepare students to be competent and knowledgeable in this field in
                                   English, so as to provide guidance in complex and culturally diverse settings. Case
                                   studies that deal with a wide range of issues pertaining to children, youth and adults
                                   within the context of their families and society, who are facing challenges resulting from
                                   issues of poverty, social injustice, lack of education, school failure and truancy,
                                   unemployment, lack of employment skills, mental illness, coping with the stresses of
                                   illness and disease, depression, homelessness, child abuse and neglect, domestic
                                   violence, substance abuse, immigration issues or grief and bereavement will be reviewed
                                   and addressed. Accordingly, fluency in the English language, as well as subject-specific
                                   terminology will be gained.
