● manage the deployment process of PHP based web applications
Previous studies
Previous studies, more information First year Tiko/BIT ICT courses: Fundamentals of programming (any language), Basics
of relational databases and SQL, Foundations of web development (HTML, CSS,
Bootstrap).Students should have an own computer to install the development
environment and do the development work.Students should arrange an own web hosting
environment to deploy their project application
Learning objectives During this course students will learn how to develop PHP based web applications that
interact with relational databases. The learning process will be based on a personal
PHP/SQL web app project. Students can freely decide the purpose/topic of the project.
Besides learning how to use PHP and SQL, students will also learn to configure a
development environment with XAMPP, Eclipse, and Github (version control). Students
will also learn how to deploy a PHP/SQL web app to a web hosting environment and get
their apps live on the internet.
Contents ● Basic programming with PHP (No Object-Orientation)
● Relational Databases: design, SQL, MySQL
● Eclipse IDE with PHP plugins
● Github for version control
● Deploying a PHP/SQL web app to a hosting environment
