 Learning objectives                   In this study module students will be able to gain expertise on different innovative
                                       solutions and best practices aimed to promote multicultural and multidisciplinary
                                       professional competences. Students will be able to recognize the impact of globalization
                                       on health and wellbeing and to increase their awareness of ethical knowledge, values
                                       and professional competences. Students are also able to recognize and apply different
                                       multidisciplinary ways and methods such as Multisensory method in promoting
                                       professional competences.

                                       -students` experiences of cultural differences, living and learning abroad

                                       -higher education in different countries promoting multidisciplinary competences

 Evaluation criteria and methods         The course evaluation is based on the following:International Week attendance

                                         cross-cultural and multiprofessional expertise is required in my field of studies in the
                                         future"
 Project (name)                          "Crossing Borders" will be the theme for the Laurea International week in spring
                                         2016. Week will be organized during 18th to 22nd April 2016 in Tikkurila
                                         Laurea.Project name: Cultural Encounters-planning, implementing and evaluating the
                                         activities together with multicultural team
 R&D methods                             Student will be able to ablyto gain experience of Multisensory Method to promote
                                         interaction and dialogue between people from different cultural groups and generations.
                                         Multisensory space in Tikkurila Laurea provides shared experiences for all the
                                         senses. Its principle idea is to promote learning, the encounters between different people
                                         and different cultures and enhance well-being. The space is not supposed to be an
                                         exhibition but a place where people can meet each other while the environment acts as
                                         an inspiration for discussion and thoughts. Not only the space itself but the whole
                                         process of planning and building it with different kinds of persons is an essential part of
                                         the multisensory method.
