 Previous studies
 Previous studies, more information    Before medical or surgical nursing practice, the student must have completed the first
                                       practice placement-geriatic nursing, anatomy and phyiology, medication + calculations.
                                       If the student haven´t completed the above mentioned study units, the practice
                                       placement booking should be cancelled from JOBSTEP3 weeks before the start of
                                       practice at the latest.A student who haven´t completed internal medicine and surgery
                                       online courses , can only be allowed to start practice if he or she has not yet exhausted
                                       the number of times allowed to re-do the course. The student must have attended
                                       medical nursing and perioprative theory lessons and workshops.
 Contents                              Practical training 7 weeks in medical or surgical ward in hospital or health
                                       centre.Training time week 43- 49.Teachers: Riikka Mulder, Emma Tamankag and Mika

 Tutoring and communication            Practice placement guide and learning contract are in the Amm harj/ Clinic pract
                                       Tikkurila optima work spacePractice placement facilitator will comment on the student´s
                                       learning contract. The learning contract will be accepted by the facitator, student´s tutor
                                       and the student.Practice placement assignmentshould be done according to the
                                       instructions given by the facilitatorAt the end of practice, the student will upload the
                                       sign learning contract to his or her ePortfolio in Optima.
 Work strain                           Attendance during practice placement info and reflection at the end of practice is
                                       compulsary. During the info session, the facilitator will go through details of practical
                                       issues that the student will need before, during and at the end of practice. Working
                                       hours; 1cr=27 hoursThe student will also give study unit feedback on the day of
                                       reflection, which is immediately after the end of practice.
