 Having completed the study unit the    The goal of this study unit is that student gets familiar with Encounter Art and music
 student is able to                     methods used in Finnish Health and Social care. He/she knows short history, the basic
                                        concepts, some of the processes and has understanding what kind of tasks and
                                        possibilities National level program called Wellbeing from Art and Culture (Liikanen
                                        2010.) gives in Finland. Students are aware of research findings of this area and they get
                                        experiences through workshops about Encounter Art and music. In seminar students also
                                        learn from each other’s presentations of esseys and good practices from their own
                                        countries.
 Previous studies
 Learning objectives                    The goal of this study unit is that student gets familiar with Encounter Art and music
                                        methods used in Finnish Health and Social care and Finnish National level programs.
                                        Student reflects his/her experiences through workshops and gets practical insight in
                                        projects. Student deepends his/her knowledge through esseys and the learnig diary.
 Contents                               The basic concepts like Culture, Art therapy, art based methods, music therapy, music
                                        methods. Best practices and research findingsof Encounter Art and music in different
                                        client groups. Encounter Art and music workshops and project work.
