Objectives
The student is able to assess different social work approaches to Child Care in European countries. The student is able to analyse convergences and divergences of social care patterns for the future. The student develops an understanding of new working procedures in Child Care, especially solution-centred and family-centred working methods.

Content
Trends in Child Care in Western Europe. Convergences and divergences in Child Care policy and practice across Europe. Critical questions about Child Care in Europe. New working methods.

Prerequisites
Second or third year university/Polytechnic students

Lectures, workshops.

Assessment
Level of activity. Examination/essay (1-5).
