11.1.5 LK7039 SUSTAINABLE FOREST MANAGEMENT (3 ECTS)

Objectives:
Student will become familiar with the special characteristics of the boreal conifer forest zone as well as the methods of sustainable forest management and silviculture. The student will understand the various ecological, economical and social values of forests. Balancing the needs of the forest industry, rural communities with those of recreational and other users in a way that will sustain the forest and its natural resources is often a challenge.
