10.1.2 LANGUAGE STUDIES

Compulsory language studies

All students have as core, compulsory languages 9 ECTS credits of English and 6 ECTS credits of Swedish (if the student has no previous studies in Swedish he/she is allowed to choose another language instead). The minimum ECTS credits of language studies as part of the Degree are 18.

Optional language studies

The maximum ECTS credits of optional language studies as part of the Degree are 18.

When the student selects to study a new language or continues his/her previous studies in Finnish, French, German, Spanish, Swedish, he/she commits himself/herself to study that language minimum of 4.5 ECTS credits.

HB7013 Advanced Level Course in Spanish Language and Culture
HB7014 Advanced Level Course in Swedish Language and Culture

Remedial courses are open to every student. If the student fails the entrance level test in Swedish he/she must take the remedial course in Swedish (provided that he/she has previous studies in Swedish). The credits are included in optional studies.
